If you're reading this, you can probably see. Yes, see with your eyes. A very smal percent of us are blind and the rest of us, well. We simply have no idea what is would be like to live day to day blind.
Even though I am very happy with my sight, I have general curiosity of things including what it would be like to be blind. "For a little while." Today I got that opportunity and it came as a surprise.
I was taking a shower with Nilson and all of a sudden the power went out. I had a 3 second stand still to understand what had just happened. I verbally re-assured myself that the water would remain warm and we could continue showering using our sence of tough as our only guide.
I'll tell you the truth, I was totally wow'd by the experience. The bathroom was completly dark, meaning that if you got a device that could measure the amount of light in the area, it would read ZERO.
We couldn't see anything. It was like we were blind. I've seen a few movies where there were blind people, and I've always wondered what their daily lives might be like. I think the 4 minute I was in darkness in the shower gave me a pretty good understanding of that.
I don't like the dark. Most people including myself would say I'm affraid of the dark. It's what I can't see in the dark that I'm affraid of. Damn immagination. Well, without too much panic and alot of fuss, as Nilson would contest. We made it through our 4 minutes of Blind Shower.
I through of some scary things, but with the help of Nilson, made it through alright. I think I'd leave the shower right away if I was by myself. What a pussy. LOL
If you've ever had to do something in complete darkness tell me your story! I don't mean darkness. I mean TOTALLY PITCH BLACK! ok.
